Both these aspects—Perfect Divinity and Perfect Humility, have been by God's will and both are everlastingly linked with God's eternal Life. Anyone may believe me to be whatever he likes, but none may ask for blessings, miracles or any rewards of any kind. My New Life is eternal. Those other than my Servants in my New Life whoever and wherever they may be who desire to live that life are free to do so in the spirit of it, independently."

Shortly after the gathering on October 16th, Baba set out on tour for his Mast and poor work. This is excellently described in a short account received by Elizabeth Patterson in January, 1951.

 

“You will remember from a letter sent to you a month or two ago that a gathering of Baba's Old Life Disciples was held at Mahabaleshwar on October 16th, 1950. During this gathering Baba stepped back into the Old Life for a few hours, and those who had been invited had been told that a collection would take place at the meeting, so that those who wished to give anything had come prepared. Many who found it impossible to come up to Mahabaleshwar had sent their offering by post to Adi at Ahmednagar, and Adi had brought these with him when he came to Mahabaleshwar, where they were added to the general collection. There were, perhaps, some two or three hundred people at the gathering, most of whom found this a happy chance to share in the privilege of taking part, albeit indirectly and in a humble way, in Baba's work.

 

“It had been stated in the invitation that whatever was collected would be used only for Baba's work with masts, saints, and the poor, and Baba confirmed this at the meeting.

 

"Baba told the gathering that he would start his tour on Oct. 21st, and that he would be out for at least two months. He also said that his tour would offer opportunities for him to carry out one or more of the phases of the New Life, all of which must, from Oct 18th 1950, be carried out by him alone, since he would be alone in the New Life from the moment he stepped back into it.
