- Only when the heart is cleaned out and the mind completely emptied, can they become instruments, hollow as the flute or drum, to give forth divine music.
- I am happy you came; it was I who drew you to Me.
- How can I pay a visit to Myself when I am never absent . . .it is such a big problem for Me to visit all these places where I already am! If I were not present there, I would surely pay the visit! (when asked to visit a shrine dedicated to Him).
- Ocean contains everything—water, dirt, nectar; and everything dissolves in the Ocean. I am the Ocean. Nobody is debarred from coming to Me and helping himself to the endless expanse of Love; but how much of the Ocean can you take with you depends on the receptacle you bring. If it is a cup, you can take only a cupful; if a pail, only a pail full. But once in a long while comes the true hero, the giant in Love that can gulp the Ocean itself!
- No one knows how to surrender to Me. They love Me, yes; obey Me, I believe, but no one knows how to completely surrender to Me. So instead I have to surrender to you (pointing His finger at all about Him).
- Mind makes you conscious of body, of doubts. You must have the consciousness of the human, but become as stone; and only then you can become dust. Your body will not be here a hundred years hence, but mind does not leave you. It is mind that wants attachments and keeps you entangled with worldly things. To completely surrender to My Will, your heart must be pure and your mind empty of all thoughts.
- When someone asked Baba why He did not reveal Himself, He said: It is so easy for Me to do that. It is the concealing that is difficult.
- I am in everybody's heart, but I am sleeping there. It is my old, old habit. In order to awaken Me, you should always call out to Me and say, "Baba, Baba, Baba" continuously. Then I, who am asleep in your heart, will not find any pleasure in remaining asleep. Let alone sleep, I shall not find time even to doze . . . I shall slowly be awakened in your heart by hearing your constant call . . . your taking My Name constantly.
