First noticed by Mehera one evening in July, 1969, Beloved Baba's image appeared in the tree outside the window of her room. It is a natural formation in the bark, untouched by hand . . . and appears slightly raised, as in a plaque. At different times of day the lighting is such that Baba's eyes actually seem to open. It was still distinguishable in December, and many people would come to Meherazad Ashram to take darshan of this image of Baba in the tree.
