of which makes your eyes open at once! Once you awaken, there is neither the pleasure of the motor-ride nor the terror at the sight of the dragon! Both are proved dreams. But to awaken you from the "pleasure" sanskaras twisting one way—you needed the `terror' sanskaras twisting in reverse.
All this shows there is really a need for a means like the "dragon" to make your "right-handed" sanskaras reverse themselves and free you from their bindings. And who is the "dragon"? The guru, who is experienced and knowledgeable in making all these ordinary sanskaras reverse. The company of such a sacred guru, and the duties performed under his orders—as you are now doing—would enable you to destroy your sanskara and give you a push towards the path of Truth. Secret working is going on here to wake you all up from this "dream" state by showing you this "dragon"!
The state of a Majzoob is like 1) a child; 2) a madman; 3) a ghost.
1. The child-like state: Just as little children, owing to their innocence, are quite ignorant of "women and wealth;'' and hence have no attraction for them, so do then Majzoobs feel no attraction to "women and wealth". Hence, the child-like state.
2. The mad state: Just as a madman has no consciousness of his body, and he misbehaves, abuses and beats others, so these Majzoobs have no consciousness of their body or state.
3. The ghost state: Just as ghosts wander here and there, fierce and terrible (in skeletons at times), so do these Majzoobs wander about at will, quite unconsciously whenever and wherever they like, and quite indifferent to the world.
The Majzoobs, Saliks, and Acharyas (Sadgurus) are all God-Realized, but the difference in their states is this, that while the Majzoob is like a madman, always unconscious of his body and state, wandering about without rhyme or reason, the Salik, though he also wanders about like the Majzoob, is quite conscious of his body and state. But he is like the Majzoob, indifferent to the world, that is, he does not care for the world. But the Acharya (Sadguru), though quite conscious like the Salik, has to perform duties too. Though "God personified," he can do things and perform works which even Brahma (i.e. God Himself) can not do.
If one were to ask me who is better—Tukaram or God, Zoroaster or Ahuramazda (Persian name for God) I would say emphatically and frankly Tukaram is far superior to and greater than God; as Zoroaster is far superior to Ahuramazda. For as both Tukaram and Zoroaster, having become Acharyas (Sadgurus) have rendered yeoman service to th world, which God (Ishwara, Ahuramazda) is not doing, being unconscious (see Chart II, God Speaks-Ed). Who is preferable? God—conscious, like Tukaram or Zoroaster, doing duo towards the world, or God—unconscious, like a Majzoob, doing nothing? Certainly the former.
You all can become a Christ or a Zoroaster! The God that is in them is in you too But O, their preparedness! If you too, make such preparedness, you will also see the same God!
What is "God" and what is "Paramatma"? Those Majzoobs who have enjoyed that eternal Bliss and experienced Nirvikalpa Samadhi (the state of Perfect Forgetfulness) and become one with God, are absolutely lost in their enjoyment of that eternal Bliss and are quite unconscious of body and world. They are like God.
The Sadgurus and Satpurushas who have been able to come down for duty to the world, even after enjoying that eternal Bliss, are quite awake and conscious, not only of
