Chart, Ocean and Waves- August 19, 1926

Consider the ocean and its waves. The waves in different places, are they not different? And yet are they not one and the same? Somewhere, they are calm, somewhere they are stormy. But each drop in the ocean is the ocean, really, but only one drop out of millions and millions of drops realizes that state—'I am the Ocean.' The other drops are the Ocean, but have bubbles around them, so they think 'I am the bubble' instead of ‘I am the Ocean.' But the Realized bubble only says 'I am Ocean—God.' Only the Experience (Realization) is required.

But it is very difficult to get this experience. For example, here you are, in the company of a Sadguru, and regularly hear all these talks of Experience, Nothingness, etc. and yet you too, say 'I am the bubble.' For in spite of my explaining all these things to you, you still do not understand and recognize yourself—either as Nothing, or as God but as 'I am Sahha,’ ‘I am Bhika,’ ‘I am Adi' and so on, as you were named by your parents, and recognized in the world.

Not only this—but suppose a scorpion suddenly bites you, you'll begin to dance, cry, feel pain, and so on. And why talk of a 'scorpion' too? To show you any means can excite the mind, get it worked up, arouse feelings, good, bad or whatever. And as soon a this mind of ours tries to enjoy the Paramatma state, it becomes unconscious. Samadhi is a different kind of rest one can take on any spiritual plane. It is midway in the plane, (Munzil). It's like the stopover one takes when travelling from Ahmednagar to Bombay on the train.

On Muktas

The Realized ones are those who cross the sixth plane and go into the seventh.

1. The Videh-Mukta leaves the body immediately on Realization.

2. The Jivan-Mukta keeps the body which is moved by the higher powers he has acquired—unconsciously

3. The Sadguru or Acharya keeps the body, moves and works it self-consciously with his Power, Knowledge and Bliss.

All three types described above are God-Realized.

The sixth plane gives one who reaches there the powers of Sight and Internal Knowledge (Antar-Dnyan).

God is Self seeing everywhere; duality is removed when one goes beyond the sixth plane to the seventh, where Realization (Experience) is given. Thus the Experienced one realizes he is all-prevalent and that there is no duality.
