A sunny day, cool winds blowing from the nearby fields . . . January 31st on Meherabad Hill, at the tomb . . . over 6,000 hearts aflame with love for God in human form . . . those who have seen Him and touched Him physically . . . and those who have not but felt His call of love in their hearts . . . all silent for an awesome, sweet moment of Silence from 12 noon to 12:15 . . . the hour of His passing on January 31, 1969, seven years ago . . . a melding flame of love running East and West through us all, a renewal of invisible grace from above, giving us a little taste of that faraway Union . . .

It made me wonder, once again, why do I . . . and so many others, believe Meher Baba was God in human form? I have been asked that question so many times, even on TV in front of millions of people . . . and I still don't know the answer . . .

Beloved Baba, I believe You are God in human form, because . . .

You have given me the gift of Your love, and love must recognize love . . .

Because . . .

Only You have accepted the totality of the world's suffering, with a smile on Your face . . .

Because . . .

     Only You could know so much, yet keep so many Avataric secrets, letting Time unfold as      a cosmic rose . . .

Because . . .

Only You have that 100% sense of humor that Perfection shows (being outside of Maya,      yet one with her, a ticklish situation!) . . .

Because . . .

Only You have lived a life of spotless purity and total service to mankind, its poor, its wretched, its searching, its advanced and unadvanced, its caring and uncaring, never seeking recognition of Your Divinity, but serving only Your humanity . . .

Because . . .

Only to You do the five Perfect Ones of the Age bend their knee and surrender Divine authority . . .

Because . . .

Only You are concerned for the whole Creation, balancing it on Your finger like a favorite toy.. . .

Because . . .

Only in You is Divinity so divinely human, we feel free to laugh and play and cry in Your Presence, and enjoy Your warm embrace . . .

Because . . .

Only You have that infinite patience that God has towards His Creation, especially . . . me!

Because . . .

Only You can give Joy and Light to saints and sinners alike, for to You they are drops in the one Ocean . . .

Because . . .

Only You restrain Your Infinite Power so You may show us the Via Crucia, the of helpless and hopeless reliance on the Beloved God . . .

Because . . .

Only You keep connection with the universe, coming down again and again, to birth and burden for our sakes . . .

Because . . .

Only You can awaken, yet You alone are the sender of dreams.
