LETTERS FROM ELIZABETH PATTERSON

Dear John,

What a long time between letters! But this can not be helped, because when one is with Baba (as you know), it is intensified living.

. . . The present news is that we are with Baba in Jaipur, Rajputana, where we will probably be until after his Birthday or longer. Our party remains here in a nice ancient house, with large secluded compound, and he goes on two trips north, at intervals. So many masts he has contacted throughout all India and Ceylon in these last years and now there are a few very advanced souls whom he is going to contact in the North mountains. He has told us that before he breaks his silence, he must personally contact 70% of the masts — and only 5% are now left but among these are the greatest souls. Only in this ancient East are there these types, as it is here that the human race evolved, so the spiritual types are also evolved. In the West of course there are advanced souls but not of the majzoob type (souls immersed in God without any consciousness of the body). This is something apart from the Masters and a special work of this Avataric period.
