wherever. When you keep silence you hear yourself and sometimes it's very drastic what you hear. So you can start controlling your thoughts. Not talking is not the important question. Maybe it is to save energy for something else and also to silence the desires.

Kitty: I have the whole thing — our names are written on it and those rules and regulations and above was written our name. Not to touch money - not to touch men . . . easy to say if you live in an ashram with men but hard to follow for example when you have to travel in a train!

Here are my orders - those checked: •

  •1. Do not indulge in tobacco smoking in any form.

  •2. Do not drink alcoholic beverages of whatever kind.

  •3. Do not eat meat.

  •4. Do not eat fish.

  •6. Perform no lustful action whatever, even with your lawful wife.

   7. (For women) Do not touch (even without thought of lust), any man over 6 (six) years of         age, except under the following circumstances:-

(a) When absolutely necessary in attending the sick.

(c)  "         "          "         " the medical examination of a patient.

(d)  "         "          "         "controlling the mad.

(e)  "         "          "         " saving a man's life and honour.

(f)   "         "          "         " rendering first-aid in accidents.

 20. You must fast in the following manner one day a week for a period of one year:-Take         twice in 24 hours milk, tea, or coffee, and once in 24 hours one solid meal with as         much water as needed.

•21. You are to observe silence for one year.

•22. For a suitable period each day you are to meditate either upon the Impersonal God, or         upon Baba.
