dog has to go down," and I said, my dog must stay with me, but Norina replied, "No, if your dog rattles the chain while she's in meditation, she'll be disturbed." I thought, if she’s going to get upset in her meditation she doesn't know how to meditate. But, then I think probably Norina knew more about meditation than I. But I had a little revenge on her. The curtains round our bed were a little transparent. It was bad of me but I used to watch her when she took out her dental plate and washed it behind that curtain. You know when you are older, you don't have all your teeth. That was having my revenge for having my dog sent down. Its not nice but you see we were human beings.

I got on quite nicely with Norina. I could speak French with her and also German. I really did not get on badly with anyone that I recall. Do you think so Kitty? Now, Kitty, you won't say! I really don't remember anything with you! With Rano I had a few differences, but with Margaret never. With Nadine - yes; I cried once when I was ill and she had to look after me. She covered up my drinks with toilet paper. Well when you are ill you are more fussy, more difficult. So I cried, and Baba came. But Baba makes use of everything - so perhaps something we do that upsets others is a test for them. I don't know. It's an excuse, perhaps! So Baba told Nadine, You must never make Irene cry. So I thought, I should not cry anymore or do something stupid like that. When I met Rano 10 years ago, - all of that was gone. We had such a wonderful time together, I wished she could stay longer with me in Switzerland. You see, you live in such proximity and Baba makes you realize your own shortcomings.

Kitty: "It's always that way!"

Before, while still at home I used to think I was a very good girl, exceptionally good and nice, but when I came to India I felt I was a terrible person! Because you see you can’t work on yourself if you think you're nice. I mean, where can you start? But if you see how awful you react with other people, then you have a chance at least to try to work out. Of course, Baba did the work, but we also had to work on ourselves. You can't just make Baba do the work - you also have to work. Jai Baba!

1.  Be determined to obey Baba.
2.  Abstain from lustful action.
3.  Be honest. Do not deceive or give false hopes to any one.
4.  Don't hurt the feelings of others."
