Enclosed is a little poem that Meheru wrote the day that Padri died. He was dictating a letter to Bob Street for Don Stevens and Bobby asked him if there was anything more, and Padri said "Yours sincerely". Bobby wrote this down and then looked at Padri. Padri had his feet up on the windowsill of his porch. He just stopped breathing.
We all have many favorite Padri stories. One of the things I seem to recall a lot is where he said that if a man enjoys fasting and fasts for 6 months, this is not as meaningful as a man who doesn't like to fast but fasts for a week. I have used this in relating to difficulties that people have. Someone may have trouble with something, which to me is a snap. Well for that person to even approach controlling that problem has more meaning than me controlling that problem, as it isn't a problem for me. Whereas I might have some fault that isn't so obvious (although my friends say my faults are obvious) that the other person can handle but I can't. Anyway, you get the drift of this.
I hope you get to see the video tape that Gary Kleiner made of Padri the day before he died. My mom remembers Padri saying on the tape "God Is, Is".
