Q: When did He become aware of being the Avatar?

Yes, yes, that's a good question. When He came in contact with Babajan, He was as if thrown into the Ocean of Divinity. That means He became God-realized, but He lost His normal consciousness. Now, He was meant to come down again to the normal consciousness and work for the uplift of humanity. And that work of bringing Him down was taken up by Upasni Maharaj. To come down from that Super Consciousness to the normal consciousness one must go through all these six stages, as Baba has explained. He had drawn a curtain upon Himself voluntarily. People ask "If He is the Avatar, why did He not become conscious of His Avatarhood the moment He came to birth?" But that is their law, the way they work - they draw a sort of a curtain upon themselves. Now, coming down from the Super Consciousness to the normal consciousness, He has to pass through all the noises of the different worlds and finally of the physical world. The noises of weeping and wailing of human beings, their suffering, their emotions, their loves, their weaknesses, everything and anything that creates a noise He had to hear through His physical ears. And that was very tense indeed; and though He had to suffer a great deal that suffering was different. He came down to the normal consciousness, He took charge of the functioning of the entire world from the five existing Perfect Masters.

Then, when He started doing the universal work, that suffering was different. The suffering He experienced when He used to hit His head on the stone, that was partly due to the din and the noise that He experienced while coming down. But having come down fully, having had the charge of the world in His hand, then He worked and suffered; that was a different suffering, a voluntary suffering for the world, for the spiritual benefit of the world. But in that suffering, He was a master of the whole situation; coming down He was not. He did not have the full consciousness of all the stages in between the Super Consciousness and the normal consciousness, and He had to just pass through them, suffering all these noises. When He came down, became fully conscious, then everything was in His control. Not that these noises today do not exist, but He had the power to cut off, anything at anytime, or listen to all at once, or only listen to one or two or three at a time, just as He wanted. So that became very easy for Him to do. The suffering that started, after He came down to normal consciousness, doing inner universal work for the benefit of humanity, that was a different type of suffering.

Q: Has He broken His Silence?

Now, there are opinions about Baba having broken the silence — some may believe that He has not broken the silence, some may believe that He has broken the silence. Even amongst our mandali there are differences of opinion. Baba had given us the right to interpret His declaration the way we thought proper from our own point of view. If you ask me about Baba having broken His Silence, I definitely say that He has broken His silence, that He gave the Word of words, and the Word was not what we expect the Word to be. He Himself said that "When I break My Silence it will not be a long talk or a lecture that I will give." According to me, that Word is nothing but a pointer, a sort of an avenue through which flowed all the work that He had done, when He released the power of His love. His work was entirely based on love. He released it already; that means to say He spoke the Word of words, He broke the Silence.

Then the subsequent question is, "Where is the manifestation of the Silence?" Baba has said this is going to happen and that is going to happen; it was explained that He spoke in three languages. When He spoke in His language, you would not understand; when He spoke in your language; you would understand; when He spoke in the mixed language, that part which belonged to you, you would understand, but that part which belonged to Him, you would not understand. That explanation He has given after the Final Declaration.* It is contained in the small booklet which I call "Three-in-One". So according to me, He has definitely broken His Silence and given the Word of words to the world. About the manifestation - it takes time. It cannot be expected to take place overnight. It takes a long time.

It is the work of the entire universe; it is the work for the entire humanity. And how does it manifest? It's very difficult for me to express, but I can imagine so many things. It can take place in the life of individuals, this manifestation. It can take place in the life of a community, of a group of people, of a state, of a country, different countries together in the whole world. We
