Even though real Bhakti yoga means death a thousand times a day, it is easier than selfless service, which is far too difficult, almost impossible, except for one with lakhs* of luck. This selfless service is impossible as it can only really be rendered by those who have reached the goal of Realization and then remained in human form to render their service making others as Perfect as themselves—an impossibility for imperfect human beings. Such true selfless service can only be rendered by such real saints as Tukaram, Ramdas, Namdeo, and others, after Realization.

"If you long to be wounded by an arrow of Love, then prepare your heart to be struck by              it."

This quotation means not only one must be prepared to suffer, but also suffer without anyone knowing it at all. There should be absolutely no outer show, even though one may be cut up with deadly wounds inside. What a burning sensation! Love, desire for God—the terrible heat of the Sun is no comparison to that burning! All this burning, yearning are for an independent seeker of Truth who has not found a guru.

For those who have found a guru, absolute submission—heart and soul, to him is all that is necessary. Even it the guru's orders are quite repellant to the senses or the heart, submit to them. Do as you are ordered, even against your will or understanding. That is an easier course, if you are fortunate enough to get that.

For if one has any desire to reach this goal of Truth, one must burn and consume oneself in that desire, without any other considerations of mind, body or soul, which is most, most difficult.

For example, it is no use desiring tea, sitting here in Meherbad. You must get up and walk over to get that 'tea'—not only desire it, but strive and wear oneself out for it.

Chart, Paramatma - August 17, 1926

In the diagram above, the Sun is the equivalent of Paramatma. The Ananta (Sat-chit- ananda) State is compared to the Sun; the Jivatman who is one with the Sat-chit-ananda State is also taken as the Sun.
