The reason she was crying so was because the grown-ups were crowding Baba and she could not go near Him. With a ¼ of a rupee piece I managed to still her tears and her fear of me, a white stranger. Then I made way for her, so she could see Baba. Her eyes, still a bit wet, were beaming and finally her whole face was lit with happiness. Soon we had to leave, and it seemed almost impossible to get through the crowd, but we made it and got away. During the trip home, it became evident, that Baba's warning to the tall was not spoken without reason, for a tall man, Fred Marks from England, had just bumped his head, enough to make it bleed. but no other damage done.

September 21st.

5:45 a.m., bathed and shaved, had breakfast and then my meditation on my tower and now awaiting our Master. Baba arrived at 10:20 a.m. He said He is tired - He did not sleep for the last 3 nights.

Today, Baba intends to stay longer than usual, to finish everything. Baba said: "Believe me, it is all new to me. I don't perform miracles, but one miracle I will perform; for that, the time is now. My miracle is not to raise the dead, but to make you dead to the world and make you blind to the world, to see God." At some other time Baba said: "Yesterday a very peculiar thing happened, the president of a society asked to have some Mantras of saints and Sadgurus. Many Mantras were collected and also Baba was asked to submit His Mantras to them." Baba then said: "I know only one Mantra - I AM THE HIGHEST OF THE HIGH!" After followed the explanation of the 7 planes with Manzil and Muqam - a very lengthy discourse* and difficult to understand. Baba says: "Babajan, so bright were her eyes! She was very active, sitting under the trees in wind and rain - her silver hair flowing free - I am with her! Babajan under the tree made motions like removing invisible objects from her right arm. Her walk was quick, Baba had to use a bike or run afoot alongside of her. She gave me Divine Bliss, Sai Baba gave me the Divine Power, and Upasni Maharaj gave me the Divine Knowledge."

September 22nd.

Originally Baba was not expected today, but Baba came at 10:45 a.m. He said, "I wanted to see you dear ones, as the day is approaching for the meeting, I am very drawn of energy - I have gradually calmed down, so I came. You all must be well for the day of the Meeting, as I have work for you all. Dear Will, I call you my Archangel, you are very dear to Me. I love you dearly. I always used to say to the Mandali, 'In God’s work, Maya always opposes and it is necessary.'" We had 12" of rain; the day Baba arrived in 'Nagar, the sky cleared; all think it is Baba's miracle, but He says it is nonsense to think this.

"This is the first and the last meeting of its kind," Baba explained, "You will be an additional burden, if you don't keep your health, so be cautious. I warn you all, not to go out without a helmet; if you perspire, keep out of drafts - on the 29th and 30th you all must be fit. It will do you good, if you walk daily for an hour." Baba continued, giving us a mini-discourse on false identification with the body.

There followed some music. Baba says, "Purdom, you select the record to be played, as you do not like Indian music." Baba made Dimpfl sit alongside of Him, to spin the alphabet-board, as Baba does, but Dimpfl could not do it, - "Lullaby." by Bing Crosby and "Begin the Beguine" were played. During Baba's discussion we were interrupted by Ben Hayman's arrival, who had left Bombay at 5 a.m., in the morning and arrived at 12:45 p.m. Baba got up to meet Ben and impressed on all of us, to let Ben feel that he had not missed anything. For me, the day was finished in washing and sewing some of my things.

September 23rd.

Baba said: "The explanations have stopped today. Tomorrow I will take you all to the village. I love the poor of Arangaon, when I pass, they all always call to me. Tomorrow at 3:45, we go. The place is full of germs, worms etc.; with Baba there, you all will be safe.
